I had already had the pleasure of sampling Lanieri’s products a few years back; then a nascent Italian startup crafting made-to-measure suits and shirts, rigorously manufactured in Italy, this time I decided to try out a suit ideal for the workplace. The fabric is a Loro Piana Super 130’s, a light blue pinstripe on dark grey background in brushed wool. With a durable crease, its weight lends it wearability both in spring and autumn months. The very British inspiration led me to select a peak lapel jacket with three pockets and loopless trousers with reverse double pleats. Overall, the jacket has a very good neckline, the lapels do not bow out and the armhole is at precisely the right point. The whole buying process is very intuitive and since they record customers’ measures, everything is much easier. As for my suit, my only suggestion would be to widen the trousers a fraction around the hips and add an inch or so to the trouser length. Finally, a gift for The Bespoke Dudes readers: for a month from today, inserting the code “BESPOKEDUDES-20” at the check-out will unlock a 20% discount on every purchase made on Lanieri website.
Bespoke hugs,
Fabio
